The Seat Altea (2004 - 2009) is a minivan marketed by the brand Seat belonging to the Volkswagen Group, this model belongs to the C-segment, which consists of 5 squares and came on the market in the year 2004.
It owes its name to the Spanish town of Altea, located in Alicante.
The Seat Altea (2004 - 2009) shared platform with other models of the Volkswagen Group such as the Seat Leon and the Volkswagen Touran.
Is a minivan that stands out from its competitors in the segment for his “low-rise”, in reference to the other models.
The Seat Altea is developed under the platform PQ35 of the Volkswagen group, a platform that would be used for four model, namely, Altea, Toledo (third generation), Altea XL and Altea Freetrack.
The vehicle was designed by the famous automobile designer Walter de Silva, this model was the first that was created with the new philosophy of the Seat, and was presented at the Geneva motor show.
Two years after the launch of the Seat Altea, in 2006, the brand, market bag two new variants, one with more space in the trunk, and from a greater height so-called Seat Altea Xl, and a version with 4-wheel drive, called the Altea Freetrack, this latest version had a suspension higher and a fender in plastic which give them a look more “off-road”.
In the year 2009, the brand sac a restyling, where modified mainly the front of the vehicle, modifying the front and the hood mainly, in the rear was changed to the moon by another of larger dimensions that reached to the edge of the headlights.
This new design was applied to all the model except in the Altea XL and Altea Freetrack, in which only redesign the interior of the vehicle, and small exterior details.
