Here you will find everything you need to increase the power and performance of your car without affecting its durability and factory warranty. Different ways to enhance a car: there are several ways to get a power increase in a car. The first is reprogramming ecu, the second with chip power, and the third with electronic pedal. Let's see the differences between one and the other and see which you choose.
Reprogramming ecu: this is the most extended in Spain but very little used in the rest of the world. Consists in deleting all the data from the ecu of the vehicle, and then load them again. Summarizing is like formatting your computer with windows XP to put Windows 10. The big problem with this type of potentiation is that we change completely the ecu of the car with some new parameters and is not reversible unless the rescheduler save your original maps to load them again if necessary.
Chip power: it is the most used all over the world. Consists of connecting a chip of power or also called ecu is external to your car with all data already loaded. Also widely used in car renting since it can be carried from car to car for a very low cost (just the cost of the new cables and modification of switchboard, about 80€).
Pedal-mail: this third option is very used in the countries of northern europe. Is not in boost the car but to reduce the pedal travel electronically which improves the response of the car. We do not make more horsepower, just better response. A very good combination is to use an on-chip power along with electronic pedal. On the one hand we win on the horses and on the other in response.
Does Chip power or reprogramming of ecu?
Once you have arrived at this point, we have to choose between chip power + pedal-mail or reprogramming of ecu. As it is logical to choose the one which best suits our needs. Our recommendations are:
1-If your car is a new car, or semi-new, with less than 200,000 km, you are unsure if you will like the new change and you want to leave your car totally OEM: Chip power + pedal-mail. The best brands are the German Race Chip and DTE Systems that are behind teams of engineers creating the software for these chips. The rest of brands such as Italian or from the south of Europe are very unreliable and do not provide guarantees.
2-If your car is rather old man, is exempt from warranty, has a lot of miles and you are going to be your until the end: reprogramming ecu. In a repgroamación switchboard ideally prior to loading it is to look at all the parameters of the car and the fit measure.
