The Mercedes SLK R172 was launched in Stuttgart in January 2011, although with a subsequent public launch at the Geneva motor show of 2011, as the successor of the series of roadsters R171 that was released originally in 2004. Early models include SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY, SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY, SLK 350 BlueEFFICIENCY. In the year 2016, as well as in other models of the brand, it underwent a name change going to be called Class SLC.
