HISTORY OF THE PEUGEOT 1007

The Peugeot 1007 is a minivan belonging to the segment A. This vehicle is dedicated to travel in urban areas.

The 1007 was manufactured by the French brand since 2005 until 2009, though it turned out to be a commercial failure for Peugeot because in four years did not come on to sell over 122 000 copies. It is produced exclusively in the plant of PSA at Poissy.

This vehicle was the first in the world to have two front doors, sliding electric, because the japanese model of Toyota Porte released six months before, had only one sliding door on the passenger side.

The main cause of the failure was the high price of the vehicle due to the above sliding doors. The Peugeot 1007 was a base price of € 14,000, being considerably more expensive than their domestic rivals Peugeot 206+ and Peugeot 207.

DESIGN OF THE PEUGEOT 1007

The Peugeot 1007 is a vehicle with four-seater and three-door body designed by Pininfarina. Its side doors are sliding doors, electrically operated and heated rear seats are equipped with a displacement of 230 mm

The Peugeot 1007 comes designed with a front engine cross-sectional and front-wheel drive, along with a manual gearbox or automatic choice of five marches.

On this vehicle the four seats could be adjusted to achieve a better comfort. The rear seats can be moved forward and backward, and separately. Can also be folded and, therefore, increasing the volume of the trunk.

THE ENGINE OF THE PEUGEOT 1007

The Peugeot 1007 is offered with two petrol engines and two diesel:

- Gasoline direct injection:

• 1.4 liters of 75 or 90 HP

• 1.6-liter 110 HP

- Diesel with common-rail direct injection:

• 1.4-liter turbocharger fixed geometry and two-valve-per-cylinder 68 HP

• 1.6-liter engine with variable geometry turbocharger, and intercooler, four valves per cylinder 109 HP.

This vehicle would be a RC version with 1.6-litre engine, increasing to 140 CV that would never come out to the market.
